Okay, so I've had other blogs in the past but none of them really worked out. So I have decided to have a blog about Chipmunks, I know several people threw the year will find baby Chipmunks, and try to raise them. Well that's sorta what I did, except I didn't have to find my chipmunk. It's a really neat story, at least I think so :) So I think before I go into taking care of Chipmunks, and raising them up I'd like to tell you the story, I'll try to tell you the short version (I'll try) On April 1, 2013 I was outside playing with my second oldest brother. While I was playing with my Brother I looked over at my dog and he was throwing something in the air and playing wildly with it (My dog has been known to caught many animals threw out the year) so right away I ran over to him and told him to drop it, He dropped it and I looked to see what it was. It was a Chipmunk around 2 weeks old, I picked it up to see if it was still alive. I could see her side was moving in and out but you could tell she was straining to breathe. I thought she would die within a few minutes, I warmed her up and put her in a box with leaves I had named her Chip. After 6 hours I went to check on her. In my head I was saying "She's going to be dead, she's going to be dead" I opened the box, I saw her laying there and she was still breathing! I told my Mom about the chipmunk and asked her if my Dad could get some puppy milk replacer for the chipmunk for me to feed her. And he did after about 1 hour later my dad came back with some Puppy milk replacer. When I went to go feed my chipmunk she was shaking, really bad, I put the milk on her lips rolled her on his back and she would drink, I did that over and over until she knew to drink it by herself. After about 3 or so weeks my chipmunk had her eyes open and she would run around really fast, we have a rabbit hutch outside that I put her in to run and play in, as I went to get her to take her back inside she jumped out of my hands and my dog almost ate her again. I tried looking for her cause she wasn't weaned yet, but I couldn't find her. 3 hours later I was going to go outside to play with my third and second older brothers, while I was outside I heard something running and I looked and it was Chip, I caught her and took her inside. 6 days passed and my chipmunk jumped out of her box and started running around the house, I chased after her and I finally caught her, I put her back in her box and I decided I was going to let her go the next day. The next day came sooner than I wished, but it was time, I walked outside and let her go. That day My mom was shopping and didn't know about me letting Chip go, when she got back she had bought me a Hamster cage :P I was then not so happy I let Chip go, I looked and looked and looked for her but I couldn't find her. The next day I went out to find her and again I couldn't find her (You might expect how upset I was getting, I didn't want to let Chip go) I walked down to our barn and saw our cat sitting in the loft I climbed up and started petting him, I heard something behind me running and I looked behind me and I saw Chip running down the trail to our barn towards me, I was about to caught her when my dog saw Chip and started chasing after her and almost caught her again, but I picked her up just in time. I took her up to the house and put her in the Hamster cage, she didn't know how to get food so she was starving out there, and saw me and wanted food so followed me down to the barn. Since she was thrown around and played with roughly as a baby I think she hurt her neck she has it slightly tilted sideways so she can't run fast at all, she jumps more like a rabbit. And when she jumped out of my hands the first time and my dog almost ate her she hurt her tail so the tip of her tail is rotting off. Chip is around 7 weeks old and is still not weaned, she loves her milk so much! She eats nuts, berries, seeds etc.... she also drinks water. But in the morning she goes crazy for milk! I'll have to film her morning feeding, when I'm feeding her below it's around 12 o'clock.

Any updates? We found a chipmunk on our stairs from our cat and it looked like it was in shock so we brought it inside. It was about 4 weeks old. We named him/her chip too. Any advice as to what to do as they get older?
